Make changes slowly, and in advance

If you must change your behavior to accomodate your patterns of meeting, do so slowly.

It is abrupt changes in behavior that will usually trigger suspicion.  Don't suddenly work late one night if that is unusual.  Build up to it.  You might even make it a habit to work late some nights when you are not meeting to keep the ruse plausible.

If you can, it's even better to make these changes before you begin using them in your affair.  Don't start an exercise regimen after you meet someone, have that in place.

You must appear as if your life is proceeding without changes.

I like this post Dick.  I see too many people who want to have affairs, but who have never carved out any time for themselves that is not marital time, who get frustrated with the scheduling aspects.

This really depends on the life situation, hobbies, etc.

But a short list of good candidates includes:

Education, like night schooling or some class on basket weaving.

Bowling, poker or the like with his buddies on some schedule.  (This one requires that he actually DO THIS two out of four times or so).

Mentoring, big brothering, or volunteering in some way. (This is a GOOD one.  Who questions someone giving back to the community!)

Per-diem job...especially one with on-call responsibilities.

Open for comment?  Others?
